How To Add Affiliate Banner In WordPress

Learn How to add Affiliate Banner in WordPress to the sidebars in this Tutorial. Once you have a site fully operational, If you need help setting up your first website see this guide. You will likely need to begin bringing in some cash. An easy method to do this is with associate advertising aka affiliate marketing.

Essentially all member programs offer you banners that you can put on your site for advertising purposes.

The three normal spots to promote affiliate banner ads on your site are on the sidebar, above or beneath all pages and posts, and in content.  Discover what works best for your site and do it!

How To Add An Affiliate Banner To WordPress:

Adding Affiliate Banner To The Side Bar:

Step 1. Login to your WordPress Admin panel

Step 2. Navigate to Appearance > Widget from the left side of the navigation bar.

Step 3. Now the Widgets page is displaying on the screen. You need to drag a text widget to the appropriate area on the sidebar of your website.

Step 4. Once the Text Widget is added to your sidebar, you need to paste your affiliate link in the text editor as shown in the below screen-shot.

Note: Entering the Title is optional. You can also leave it blank.

Step 5. Now you need to click on the Save button to save the changes.

An affiliate banner ad is now added to the sidebar of your website. You can now visit your website to check the added affiliate link.

How to add in the Header or Footer in WordPress:

Step 1. Login to your WordPress Admin panel.

Step 2. Now you need to navigate to Appearance > Editor from the left side of the navigation bar.

Step 3. After clicking on the Editor, an Edit Themes page is displayed where you need to click on the header.php or footer.php. You need to edit these files to add your affiliate link or banner.

Step 4. Now search the below code and paste your affiliate link just below the code as shown in the below screenshot.

Note: You need to move your affiliate code up or down where you want to display the affiliate banner on the header or footer of your website.

You can also add some more tags to customize your banner or to align the banner on your website.

Step 5. Once done with editing the file and pasting your affiliate link or banner you need to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Upload File button.

After clicking on the update File button all the changes have been made. You can now check your website after clearing the cache and cookies of your browser.

In-Text Banner Ads:

  1. Find the banner you would like to place in your text. Usually, a small banner that can be placed right off the text is best.
  2. Copy the HTML code of the banner.
  3. Head over to your website and edit the page or post you would like to add this banner to.
  4. Decide where you would like to place your banner ad and remember the text directly below.
  5. Then switch over to the text portion of the editor. This is the HTML of your page or post.
  6. Find the text you would like to enter your banner above
  7. Paste the HTML code of the banner directly above that text.
  8. Switch back over to Visual and you will see that the banner has now appeared.
  9. You can edit the orientation of this banner. By clicking on the banner and clicking on edit image.
  10. You are able to adjust where you would like the banner to show up on the page.
